The 1st golden rule of laundering clothes is to check the care labels. Even though a fabric may be similar they can have different care instructions based on a different fabric blends.
The 2nd golden rule is to sort laundry properly – separate items by cycle, water temperature and colour. Items that shed lint frequently such as towels should be kept away from other that attract lint such as corduroy or knit clothing.
Stainless steel is the top choice for most modern homes. However, maintaining the sleek look of your appliances day to day can be a hassle. But for a quick and simple streak-free shine – try Windex.
Steps to Clean:
Spray Windex onto the stainless steel surface, covering the steel with a light mist.
Wipe the Windex off with a handful of paper towels. Wipe in large circular motions.
Dampen a cleaning cloth with water and wipe over the stainless steel to remove the Windex residue, this time wiping with the steel grain.
Dry the steel with a dry, lint-free cleaning cloth, again following the steel grain while wiping.
Extra detergent doesn’t mean your clothes will be extra-clean. Instead, suds end up carrying odors, dirt, and bacteria higher than where the water levels inside the washer tub can reach and potentially leave a smelly residue that can transfer to your clothes in the wash. The detergent can also build up in clothes, giving them a long term dingy look, so follow the instructed fill lines on the cap or scoop carefully.
Appliance Traders Limited (ATL), one of Jamaica’s top electronics and industrial retailer, has announced 30 days of General Consumption Tax (GCT)-free shopping on selected items throughout the month of June.
The move comes as ATL responds to the government’s revenue measures for fiscal year 2012-2013 which see GCT being imposed across several sectors.
“With rising concerns about the new GCT regulations and how it will impact living and energy costs, consumers are on the aggressive hunt for value and relief so ATL is offering GCT rollback on some of our products,” a release quoted Assistant Deputy Chairman of ATL, Ian Neita as saying.
The move is aimed at offering some relief to consumers at this time.
“In addition to the GCT rollback specials, ATL also offers a range of energy efficient products including our Inverter lines which saves up to 60 per cent on energy costs,” Neita said.
The GCT rollback campaign is being instituted at all four branches of ATL in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay starting tomorrow, June 1.
It will incorporate deals across most product categories including premium brands such as Panasonic, Whirlpool, Prizm, Hoshizaki and DAB.
